Thread: What was the car you learnt to drive in?

  1. #11
My learning to drive took place in a fc ute feeding sheep hay on the family farm , with dad on the back throwing the hay out.....use to use cruise control , he would start off pull the choke out to get a bit of speed then say here take over slide out the door and get in the back.

First car I drove was an EH panelvan with a Speco 3-speed shift on the floor. Mainly learnt to drive in Mum's mini. First car was an LC GTR.

I learnt to drive and passed my licence test on mum's Grecian white/blue inerior 253/trimatic HG wagon. I'd already bought my first car by then (16) and was close to getting it re-registered and on the road. It was a $400 Mazda R100 that I wasn't sure dad really appreciated what a weapon the "small cars" could be until I took him for a white knuckle bast around the block... Went from that to a 273 VE VIP Val next and then through about a car every three months or so for the next few years as I bought and sold my way up.
    Nunc est bibendum...

Learned to drive in our B2000 Mazda, 4 on the tree, on the farm at age 8 haha. Upgraded from that to Mum's Sigma wagon which I got my licence in. First car I owned was the Van I have, after that it was a long line of H series.

First car I drove was the oldies HJ wagon when I was about 8 it was a 6 cyl three on the tree.

I was about 11 when we moved to a property and got a Suzuki 4WD. It was a three cylinder two-stroke. Had to clean the plugs regularly. That was heaps of fun and a great way to learn how to drive.

First car was a HQ Ute 6 cyl three on the floor!
