    WB Hazard lights

Looking to fit the WB hazard light assembly into my HZ ute. What do I need and what's involved?

You need the wiring harness from memory. HZ's have the reverse light setup going up into the column to active the rear blinkers when reversing, and WB don't have this. I can't remember the specifics though.

unplug the steering column and plug it into a WB one and see what happens when you turn the hazards on ?

It won't work. I tried it years ago on an LX when I put a combination switch in it. I used the WB column piece and tried to use the blinker mech with hazards but it didn't work, just put the earlier mech back in. The problem was the reverse lights wiring I think.

So I gather you need to separate the reverse light circuit from the blinker circuit to make this work?

You could do it easier off the reverse light circuit and just not have the front lights flash.

I was gonna wire a four indicator hazard circuit onto my HJ years ago, and decided not to in the end, with the bits I had it would have been too much messing with the original harness, and I didnt want to run the risk of making a good indicator circuit unreliable.

A flasher circuit tapped into the reverse light circuit where the light and dark green wires come out from th switch at the gearbox is easier and will work if you get the circuit right, but you still need to tap into the loom (it may have been cut at the gearbox already) its only the reverse lights you're messing with then. You wouldnt get front hazards, but the side repeaters would still flash. You may want to use some big fat diodes to stop power going to the flasher circuit when reverse is engaged though.

are you planning on breaking down? i wouldnt bother, i have never used them on my wb and if i had a drama with my hz, used to leave the reverse lights on.

Does someone have a WB wiring diagram they could scan so I can see what differs that and HZ?
