I got given an HX ute a couple of months ago and only just checked the numbers.
It's not a sandman but I found the chassis number interesting, AHX00001B.
Does the number 1 mean this was the first chassis in that series?

I'd love to see the ID plate details. It most likely will not be the first HX PSN listed against the Acacia Ridge assembly plant as cars at that plant had a PSN from early on in the body plant, but it certainly is the first chassis stamped for HX at that location. I'm not 100% certain when in the process Acacia Ridge cars got a chassis number, but it could well be the first Acacia Ridge HX to leave the assembly line.
Edit - James, just realised you'd sent me a PM. Will reply to it.

That would be a nice bit of info on the plates for you all very unique with the first hx chassis no. Be nice if it's still all complete and then reco it.
Makes it easy to remember.
I wonder what will happen when you go to register it, the strange look at the RTA office like you made the number up. (like the strange look you give someone named "John Smith" every time you meet one! - "OK mate, don't tell me your real name then! John Smith! Sure it is.....!)
Good morning sir, I'd like to register HX Holden number 0000000001.......
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
It is complete and running, 2.8 litre and four speed. Should be 202 3spd.
It has many layers of white paint but was originally Papaya according to the tags.
Also has plenty of rust!
Sounds like a great work truck as it is, or a good candidate for a 350/Turbo 400.
A young bloke in my town has a white HJ van with windows and a Statesman front that he is supposedly going to rebuild for when he gets his licence. It has almost no rust and a running 202/3-speed. I am seriously thinking about saving it from certain doom by buying it and using it as my shop truck. Lowered, wide steelies, black out the windows, hotdog exhaust.......
.....haven't run the idea past the wife yet.....
