    Question Gts mags

I have a set of gts mags that are little unusual all the ones I have seen have been painted black and silver but theses ones have been powder coated a metallic orange sort of colour and the spokes and the rest is Crome not painted silver.

Someone had just painted over the hole rim black.

Is there any place I can go to get the rims back to original orange and Crome.

    soda blasters maybe.
As far as "original" chrome and orange...maybe not.
And they should be charcoal and silver.

I had a GTR Torana that colour in the late seventies . Don't know what it is called but I would have called it a metallic brown of some sort. ( or bronze )

Yeah that sounds about right I know they did come off a gtr xu1 torana and they were painted black till I started washing the ute and some of the paint came off and reviled what you can see. They are also 8 inch instead of your standard 6 inch

Early HZ GTS would have had orange on the rims for an orange car.

Holden did colour code GTS rims in the HZ models. God awful 99% of the time. Never factory with chrome outer rims and no they should not have come off a GTR-XU1 unless it has had a stud change.
It was a common thing in the 80's and 90's to have the centres cut out painted and welded into wider chrome outers which these appear to be. The cost of re-chroming the rims would be more expensive then buying new ones (as it has always been). Blast this set and paint the whole wheel.

LC GTR-XU1 rims were pressed steel with caps and dress rims from memory and LJ were alloy (Sprintmasters?). Did I get that right? Either way were very different to N66 Ralleye rims.

Sounds good to me Dave. Globe Sprintmaters were a '72 thing and the original wheels have a date stamp cast inside a circle on the rear.
