A VG Maloo would do me. They are a simple and cool ute. Just none about.
Yeah the late VS would be good too.
I think the utes will be worth more than the sedans in years to come. Might be wrong though.

We'll there will be no WB statesmans left the way they get pulled apart for parts! Maybe they are due to start increasing in value.

Nah Maloo being a commercial vehicle will be valuable. Just won't be the Sandman generation that wants them.
No one thought a sandman would be valuable 15 years ago either.

Even though they are ugly and not a Monaro the V2 GTS coupe and maybe the Coupe4 (much less ugly that the GTS) will be worth having, but people ask too much for them, same as VZ CV8Z's, WAY too dear when you can get a V2 or V2II CV8 with less than 100-120,000kM on it for under $20k. If you wanted to keep one of these later model cars a 2001 plated yellow manual V2 CV8 would be the one to have, and they are half what people want for a VZ.

They will for sure become desirable and collectible. Pretty much all the SS, SSV, HSV and Monaros.

It's all about growing up and either reliving your youth or buying what you couldn't afford in your youth. Sure some will be more desirable them others. But with the demise of Australian built Holden's coming soon all these will have an even greater following. They're a well built highly optioned group of vehicles and V8 rear wheel drive. It is naive to to say they won't be collectible. They might not be to you. But hey your stuck living 1970's Ute and Vans.

While I like Byron's idea of picking what he feels is the desirable model. Like all things if you go with the less offensive colour trim combinations you'll do OK. Even the HERO colours will hold there own as they always have.

    Like everything, time will tell...

My thinking is go back to the late 70's and into mid 80's and grab a good HK GTS327 and a HQ GTS350, and a HQ Sandman whist you are there. Everyone will laugh at you as they want HG and HZ and WB, and pay twice as much for them. Bring them back here and see who is laughing! Right now is that time for a V2 CV8, but keeping one good for another 25 years won't be easy!
