Can someone tell me how common Maroon HZ GTS steering wheels might be? I've never seen one before. Is it something I should put in a box and keep stored?

It isn't HZ GTS. It will be either HZ SL/E or UC Torana. Colour is either Carmine or Dark Carmine from memory.
Cool, Came with a ute with yellow needle GTS dash and the wheel. Woodgrain facia, from Prem?
It will all most likely have come out of a SLE statesman.
Well, In my opinion it's pretty ugly and I'll change it, so might put it in a box anyway I reckon. Someone may need it one day. No place for it in the tonner.
Yep, put it away. They are not common, or in production, so it will be required one day.
"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
Yes ugly. But you have to agree that it was a good option for a statesman. Sports dash and GTS dash. The SLE Statesman should be the most desirable after HQ 350 statesman. I would hang on to it.
I sold my sle statesman in 93 , when I finished the coupe, it had a saas steering wheel so I don't know what was standard, I reckon its the best dash layout and interior of that era.
The dash etc is in a tonner now. I'll try to post some photos after the weekend. It's in good nick, Just the colour scheme won't really work.
The SL/ dash is glossy burr walnut sort of like HG, same as HX LE other than the RTS badge. Premier is a flatter (less gloss), horizontal grain like HK or HT.
Most desirable Stato after 350 HQ will probably be a mint Caprice or a HZ Champagne Edition which is the stillborn Calais released as the Champagne Edition.
