    1973 HQ Panel Van

A father and 14 year old sons project. A ground up restoration of a 1973 HQ Panel Van. Found in a shed, where it had been sitting for 10 years untouched. Usual rust and wear and tear. Stage one, the tear down is complete. You will see from the gallery photos the chassis has been removed and the body is getting ready for a rotisserie. We are now getting our pieces back from the blaster, and starting with our etching. We are aiming to rebuild to show car quality, and still be able to hold its own at the Summernats one day!! We'll see how we go... We will keep you posted on our progress. Check out our gallery for more photos. Feel free to comment, your feedback is appreciated.

That's a pretty good looking shell, and another Q with factory windows. Is it a Brissy built van? Great to see a father and son project, have fun with the build.

oh, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks, glad you like it. The original colour seems to have been a 'one-off' colour, so perhaps a fleet colour or something. It has been very difficult to confirm.

My son likes green, so we are thinking we'll go with an original HQ/Sandman green that would have been around in 1973....
