Decals for Deauville Blue HX Sandman Ute

I'm restoring a Deauville Blue HX Sandman Ute (haven't sent the tag details to you yet Byron, must get that done!) and saw what looks to be an almost identical ute on ebay last year (mine has Chamois 60A trim and the other 18V). I want to know what DY/DX number the decals on the ebay one pictured are and if they would be correct? They look original? TIA

They are DY4 ... Yellow, light orange, dark orange.

I don't have my combination list available but I believe only DY2 are factory correct for Deauville Blue in HX. The DY4 do look good on it though, your car, put on it what you like.

Thanks Absinth, I quite like the stripes on the one pictured so will probably go with DY4 l reckon, now I just have to study Grunt's excellent DIY guide to putting the decals on...

DY2 is factory for Deauville Blue Metallic HX, correct.

When you say DY4. You mean HZ DY4? White, Mid Blue, Dark Blue.

If you are thinking of going that way and want to chat to me about a set. Let me know. We are printing that kit this month.

He's talking about HX DY4 Jason as pictured above on the ute.

DY2 Orange/Bright Blue/Blue is correct for 1898 in HX. You'll only normally find them in 18V or 60A. 67V is not a recommended trim, and 65A was N/A with 1898.

I was a previous owner of that ute and it had been resprayed by the time I purchased it in around 2006 so they aren't the original decals. Not to say they aren't exactly the same as it came with but it had a makeover somewhere in its first 30 years of life

Thanks for the info HX Sandman...the DY4 decals look good but there's not a lot of call for them so they're hard to get hold of. I'm leaning towards the DY2 decals specified by GMH now...I just find it a little odd that GMH would put decals with 2 different shades of blue on a Sandman that had blue paint also!

What are people's thoughts about HX DY3 decals on a Deauville blue ute? Or go with DY2?
