4 spd shifter rubber

Hi all can someone please tell me if the rubber for the 4 spd shifter goes under the carpet or on top and if it goes under is it sealed to the floor? thanks

Goes under the carpet not sealed just use the steel template that comes with the kit, I did have an lc torana once and use it on top on the carpet as the car had no console so it really depends how you want to use it

ok thanks it has a console and i thought it would seal better under the carpet
