I don't think the comparison is pointless at all, it is quite valid.

If I was looking to buy a van, why would I be remotely interested in the supposed value of a Torana, that I'm not interested in, in the first place?? Do tell Byron.

Maybe we may have actually helped them out by discussing this on the forum lol
Could well be the case Flamenco, I have seen a few asking for $50,000 including a survivor. $60,000 is a record possibly.

All about relative value to me. Not everyone who buys a certain car is after that particular car when they find it, but buy it for what it is. For example, it is how I goy my HJ Premier.
So i'm just comparing the value at $60k, and that HZ van or probably any HZ van doesn't come close to what else you can buy for the money.
If you were looking to buy a van you are right, you probably wouldn't look at Toranas. But surely when you saw this for $60k you'd look at what else was around for that money and come to the same conclusions:
1. Better value elsewhere for the money.
2. Van is too expensive.
A new Sandman turns up once a week on here. They are bringing about $30000 because that's about what the average Sandman punter can scrape together.
There was a hz sandman van that sold here for 55k
I enquired about this van a couple of weeks ago and it is definately the casino one. The seller sent me photos of the three tags. All checked out. Then low and behold I come across an old add for a sandman on Aussie muscle cars with the tags displayed and guess what , they where the same plates as the red $60,000 van. This van was a dark blue then . I would say that the coke promoters bought it and done it over and repainted it.
