Rare Spares 4 speed shifter knobs

Lets talk knobs.... Rares have two knobs listed that frankly have me confused in the description side of things.

Thanks for pointing that out, I thought I fixed them on Saturday after your comment on another thread. I have had another go let me know if I have it correct this time. We do sometimes make mistakes with descriptions as the parts books are not always correct or confusing and it is sometimes better to listen to people that have hands on experience.

not up on Torana but your GK1001 should be HQ to HJ and GK1007 should be HX to HZ. This is due to the different consoles used, HQ/HJ had the shifter pattern on the front lift up console lid so no need for the pattern engraved in the knob.... HX/HZ had the little tray at the front of the console with no shift pattern so had it on the knob instead.


FYI, I am quite happy with the GK1001 knob I got for my HJ Sandman... It looks and feels the same as I remember on my HQ and HJ Sandmans back in the 80's and screwed on easily.... Nice product.

What I posted is correct for console shift. I would assume bench seat floor shift would use GK1007. I'll look through all my manuals when we get back home in a week or so and see what I come up with.

so which number suits an L34?

so which number suits an L34?

GK1001.... L34 didn't come with a console so no shifter pattern on the lid. Therefor it needs the knob with the shift pattern engraved in the top.

Both my parts book and L34 supplement book list 2817736 which is GK1001 , I can only go by the parts book unless there is an LH guru in the house. I will ask the question on GMH-Torana
