Leyla, out of curiousity what was the original HJ chassis number in the HZ ute. It sounds like the same story as the ute I have been trying to track down for years. I have a HJ sandman shell that's chassis and GTS parts were put in a HZ ute 20+ years ago and my research has gone cold, the last info I could track it down to an owner in Murrurundi NSW about 15 years ago, HZ ute painted black with the HJ chassis for my sandman!
Fantastic! Dont worry about any non-originality, its still a Sandman. Drive it as is and enjoy it. Its a good solid investment that you can have a bit of fun with in the meantime.
Hi Sandaro, sorry for late reply, had to wait until i had some time to dig around all my old paperwork, but have found it for you. The chassis on the ute was BHJ16933B..... fingers crossed for you.....
Thanks Leyla for going to the effort. Not the same one. Mine BHJ24716B.
Anyone from Murrurundi area in the last 15 years recall a black HJ-Z style ute getting around?
Yes, have passed through and had a look see down side streets etc, but a lot of backyard sheds unexplored. I think the only way may be to find someone interested in old Holdens that has lived there for ages (like through this site) or probably just by cold calling locals there (which I am reluctant to do, not really something I like receiving myself)
Thats awesome. I must have missed this thread originally. Glad you got a van to park in the shed. Looks like a ripper!
