If me and Absinth both won lotto on the same night I reckon there'd be a race to grab this one. Wouldn't mind the white HZ wagon on AMCS either, and there was an orange ute with a canopy for sale recently as well.

I spotted an XY 4x4 ute in Canberra the other day. Period correct ugly as sin canopy and cheese cutter wheels and all. Pretty cool looking old rig.

^^^ not kidding play.... I have the Off Road mag that featured that HZ wagon which I bought new and read the feature. Love the Overlanders and XY 4wd. The Overlander were a bit high geared for real off road work and the auto would run away on steep hills but they were great on the beach and sand.

WBute, you are correct... ww2 jeeps had Dana diffs.

Aftermarket side glass, 4 bodgy screws above the windscreen, dent in tailgate, crease/rust in upper tailgate among other roughness (Check out the masking of the headlight surrounds). Again somebody playing double or nothing chasing big bucks for a pretty average low spec Sandman.

Must have been a tough decision to sell that one tonner HK.
Lots of stuff had Dana gear. Jeeps, Chev, GMC, Ford. Even Volvo, the diffs guys use out of Volvos for old Holdens are Dana from memory.

I sold it as they aren't that comfortable, tonners and utes have no leg room. It was also underpowered, needed at least a 350ci engine and it had no aircon. I replaced it with a Cross8. Overlanders aren't that good as a 4x4 either, they suffer from the same problem as Hiluxes with front leaf springs, the leafs are too short and don't walk very well. I know they are collectable but you'd be far better off with a Holden body on a late model Patrol chassis with rear leaf springs, with TH400 or 4L80E and Hilux transfer case. Just as bulletproof and far better suspension, and still get the benefit of 1 tonne load capacity and legal 3tonne towing.
