If the body is as good as quoted $12k isn't out of the question, you'd spend $10k fixing a rusty one like the red one in the other post. Plus this is an Absinth 308 HJ example so the best of everything! If the Caprice front is still good you'd get good money for the front. Having a blank chassis is a good thing too, but it may be a WB or HZ chassis.

Why would this be the case? I would have thought it less desirable on the wrong chassis
A replacement chassis is better than the wrong one, ie one with the wrong number on it.
The chassis will end up with a police number if it's to be re-registered in NSW.
You would want the back story (and any proof) from the original owner in writing to save much misery come police number time. Otherwise it will be doused in acid looking for old number evidence.
