Yes. Logically it'd be a "by order" option only as the bars are different, not a dealer fit accessory like mudflaps. So unless Sandmans were being built for sale with the strip, Sandmans with it must have been customer orders.

Why have a rubber strip on the front but no strip on the rear bumperettes seems odd to me and yes i know wb had rubber on there rear bumperettes

Ok, I parted with my cold hard cash today and bought the ute. I just hope the chassis lines up with the body tags. I checked the consul mount again, just to make sure I was right and not imagining things in the excitement when I first looked at it. Found out that the ute has not left the property in the last 17 years so Im confident its all original. It is going to be a long term project but cant wait to start! Just noticed the tags have 38E for the trim but this is not a trim that is on the hq sandman ID guide? Can I have some help here please?
