Rares lower tailgate???

I was going through the Rares online and see the lower tailgate is listed as original thickness 1mm.... Is this a new tailgate that replaces the flimsy crap being sold previously??

has anyone got one of these tailgates and if so what are they like???

They are thicker steel, but Greg Barker told me they are a limited run so once they are gone that is it for now.

WTF.... Why would they do that????? A limited run of a better quality part and then back to supplying crap..... Yep... Makes total sense...

Yes mate, decided it looks better on the shed wall and I can't bring myself to have at it with paint stripper. I have ordered a new thicker steel tailgate so will see how much better it is if at all.

Bloke in the western suburbs of Melbourne makes 100% original skins and reconditions tail gates... Wish I had more info than this...
Anyone heard?

apparently there is a guy in Hervey bay making lower tailgate skins but have no details on who.

Greg Barker is from Rares, can't remember the title but he is in product development. I spoke to him about the tailgates when they were being done. He will know how many are left and specs etc.
