Well done, the van will be much lighter now with all the bog removed.

Good job,I stripped my Monaro back to bare metal by hand and it was also full of bog for no reason, except the rear beaver panel that had a hit at some stage. We have been looking at clinker ski boats recently and a few weeks ago we looked at one with a 1972 308 with those rocker covers but the oil filler was in the middle so I think they may have been HT rocker covers that someone had modified.

Bought a stud welder for pulling out some of the hard to get to dents and spot shrinking.... takes a little practice but boy I wish I'd got one years ago.

Had a play at pulling out a dent in the rear corner

weld the studs on in strategic places

and gently pull them out... no no, gently.. oh well, a few holes to fill.
pulled the dent out well though

The tailgate from my old Sandman is pretty much rust free but has been repaired multiple times buy the looks of the dents.
The inner panel is good so a quick call to Oz and a Nos lower tailgate skin is being personally delivered to me on Saturday.... what a legend...
So out with the grinder to remove the old skin.

Phew, that is a lot of rust prohibiter in the bottom of that panel

A bit of slide hammer action with the washer as well? There is a system now days that uses keys and washers to pull dents, looks the goods. Might be a bit pricey.

Similar to what I got, if you look at the pic you'll see the keys and key puller in the kit.

Woohoo, Classic Oz Wreck came a visitin today.......

Decisions, decisions, Nos or reproduction.... my original headlining is torn so I need a new one.
Unfortunately my interior is Gazelle and the Nos headlining is neutral and they don't do a Gazelle repro
so either way I have to paint it..... so I went repro as I really couldn't bring myself to paint a Nos one.
    headlining.JPG

Also got a Nos lower tailgate skin... a bit more than the crap Rare Spares tailgate I bought
but at least once repaired the original with seal properly.

Had to go to Bunnings in Forbes today so thought I'd pop into Forbes wreckers and see what they have that I may need..... as luck would have it, they did...

My Sandman has factory air and as such should have factory tinted door windows.... well the drivers door is but the passenger side wasn't.... bugger me if there wasn't a factory tinted passenger side window sitting on the bonnet of a HJ Kingswood... Score.. not bad for $35....

However.... I also wanted a pair of the metal door trim tops so found a couple of stuffed trims on the ground and tore the metal tops off..... I thought $35 for them was a little rich... although he did throw in the broken lower dash fascia I picked up to repair the big hole in the back of the pocket in mine.
