Neat history, thanks for sharing your story. Pity the original number plates have been replaced.
What was the story with them being replaced? Tell the old man stripes are back in and protector strips never were in!

Thanks for all the welcomes and kind words
I didn't plan this but I just started typing and thought I might as well do it proper and this sight is really user friendly, it was so easy to add photos
Very cool van and from what I know the engine has been done twice.
Yes I remember you and Rodney! Your Yellow van is awesome and the first restored one I remember seeing, its really cool to see them back to their former glory.
Your story is a great one as well.
Yes we're from the area you'll often see him going down the Princess Hwy, Alfords pt rd, captain cook bridge, Tom Ugly's etc

lol, everyone tells him he's got to get the stripes back on, but he dosn't mind the protector stripes he says they have saved the body from a lot of little dings.
Yes it is a pity about the original number plates, he only replaced them because one fell off while he was driving in the early 80s
What a great van and great story. I have a Flamenco Red HZ V8 manual van also that I am going to start restoring. There aren't enough left anymore, make sure he never parts with it!
