    Persian Sand Sandman?

Does anyone have a picture they could post of a Persian Sand Met HJ Sandman.... All my stuff is still packed at the moment and I can't really remember the colour... Seem to recall it being a browny/bronzy colour and not overly nice.....

possibly looking at one this weekend as a potential purchase and Persian Sand Metallic is the original colour.....

Not a Sandman but here's the colour on MrJones shed.

I've got a Statesman exactly the same, although its starting to look a bit weathered. I reckon it would be a nice colour on a Van with the blackouts and black stripes. You're not going to rock up to a show and see another that's for sure.

Yeah that's it..... Poo brown... Not a fan of it, probably why the vans now painted red. Thanks for the pic. Might have to paint it Jamaican Lime instead if I get it....

i had a metallic brown VK 318 auto 770 Charger back in the 80's and re-painted it Toledo red so it didn't look like a turd on wheels... LOL

My ute was originally Persian sand and it's grey undercoat now.

    I like the undercoat better.......

Back in 1979 my mate had a HX wagon that was Persian sand with an antelope roof. Bloody ugly, even when he tried to "hot" it up with big American Racing wheels it still looked like grandpa's car.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Interesting thread, I reckon Persian Sand can look great, (gotta be the right car, gotta have high shine). I dunno if its fair to call it poo brown though, sure it's close, but ahw really?

One thing I've noticed, original Persian Sand seems to hold up to the elements longer than many colours, interested if anyone else has observed this, or if its just my muse, - could assist when looking for a spare panel?

I have just got hold of a Persian San HZ, got it home and started mucking around and decided to cut and polish the paint. It came up great in the area around under the bonnet and in the door gaps, I was thinking about leaving the engine bay and under bonnet original when I paint the rest of the carbut still undecided.
