Could be, no way to tell for certain from a HJ Kingswood's ID plates. If it is though it is an XU3 which makes it a pretty rare beast, I won't have too many HJ Kingswwod XU3's.

Difficult one that one. Built after 1/76 the GMV should be de-rated for a XX7 Sandman (Passenger tyres) but wouldnt be for a XU3 Sandman (Commercial tyres).

So to prove it is an XU3 ute over an optioned Kingswood without the option code on the plates is very hard. Byron may have some body indicators but I doubt you could convince many from those plates alone.

I have maybe 2 or 3 other possible HJ XU3 Kingswood Sandmans, one is an Acacia Ridge assembly so it definitely is.

I have this one recorded from a long time ago as a Sandman. I didn't have the whole chassis number though, could you check the 2nd last 0 is a 0 and not a 9? The info came from Fletch (of who many will know, used to do what Jason does now with stripes).

Funnily enough and the reason I remember it is I own a HJ Kingswood ute with chassis number BHJ1571xM, owned it for years. Was a 350 and TH400 with WB Caprice nose. Got hit in a head on and written off so I wrecked it out, but still own the remains. It is not a Sandman but it was the same colour and trim combination except shows 1413 as the colour as it is Jade Green but with a white roof. Chassis number is very close to yours but has a PSN about 1000 lower than yours (hence why I asked if your chassis number was possibly BHJ1579xJ or BHJ1597xJ or something like that.

The Acacia ridge one is the one twotees has at a farm. Could you order a Kingswood with Bucket seats and you got the ute console (without the ashtray) but not an XU3?

Buckets were optional on Holden and Kingswood, but no console shift. Only floor shift or column shift.

The console in some statos had no ashtray either I am thinking,I have two consoles now and neither has an ashtray is this because they had one in armrest? And is this the same console? Not doing anything concourse so an ashtray isn't a prob to me anyway

Nothing, just puts it more in sync with where I suspected it should have been.
