308 ran rough and now wont fire

I was driving my van home from work and it started being a little bitch and spluttering backfiring etc. Got it home and tried to start her a week later with no love. She has been uber reliable up until now. its elec ignition (accel brand) with bosch coil.

Ive put the wire from the coil to the battery, no joy. checked fuel, theres no spark and gone through 3 batteries already! I suspect the ignition module but a search for a new one revealed they are no longer made.

Any take takers on how to determine if its in the distributor or the coil? thanks

I trying to sort out my troubles recently, I had the lead off the coil (the one that goes to the centre of the dissy- same thickness as spark plug leads) and I could see spark coming out of the end of the coil as I cranked the motor. Mine is standard ignition (not electric, you'd probably expect to see more spark). That should tell you at least whether its the coil side or dissy.
