I found some pics of my old HJ Holden van, this was my first car as a licensed driver in 1981. Ex PMG with 173 engine and three on the tree..... eventually ended up with a 308 with M21, VB Commodore seats, 5 spoke dragways, converted to a ute and repainted Cyan blue.
1983 on holiday overlooking Townsville.... I think??
Notice the metal HOLDEN badge still pinned to the rear lower tailgate....
1987.... chopping the roof off for my first ute conversion, there is a rusty HJ Sandman van around the side of the house that gets stripped for its GTS guards, 308, M21 and running gear, complete dash, door trims and console... I can't believe I dumped the rest including the GTS wheels.
Cut as much as I could with the air panel cutter (pictured) and then cut through the rear pillars the rest of the way with the oxy.
