There's something I never noticed before - body colour bumpers on Drifters? I cant remember that being the case from when I was a youngster, I would have thought back then I would have noticed, it would have been too flash not to notice I think. There was one down the street from where I grew up, but I could easy be wrong.

I remember colour keyed bumpers were a bit of a styling deal when they came in, (great way to lift an ageing model, or put lighter steel on a new one), but it was way later than the 70's, mid 80s and later, from memory maybe Europe got em first? Could have been Japan, RX7 maybe, or Bluebird, or Volvo 360? Was around then I thought.

Maybe Drifter did have em, I cant recall. Looks pretty good though.

It was standard to have coloured bumpers on Drifters.

agree, my brother has a drifter in original paint and it has coloured bumpers
