    rewiring alternator

    Hi all i have just bought a new alternator for my HQ and it has an inbuilt regulator but the old one was external,i have a plug that goes to the alt with 2 brown wires and 1 blue and another plug that went to the external regulator with one brown wire and one blue wire,can someone please tell me how i wire up the new alternator. thanks

    http://www.concourseparts.com.au/for...php?topic=14.0 try this web site. The brown wire is only for the gen light on your instrument panel. The blue wire I don't think you need with the new alternator. So just use the brown wire. And make sure you disconnect the external reg. that's the best I can do. After looking at all the car manuals I have. Read up and good luck.
