Door glass and glass runner channels explained

this is fairly simple compared to whats was explained with doors...2 types of glass and 2 types of channels that go with each piece of glass...
hq door glass has a pointed front lower edge in the glass itself and has a large metal runner with 2 rollers..

hj hx hz wb all have a wedge/cutoff at the front edge of the glass and a small doovey that sticks out the front and slides in the channel..

Here endeth the lesson on glass for front doors... no vans had back/side doors unless it was an ambo...

channels for the glass to run in on front doors....in both pictures the one on the bottom is hq and the one on the top is hj hx hz wb...hq has a roller that runs in it and hj to wb has the little extension doova that runs in the felt of the channel..

Both these channels are right hand doors..

I may not be adding much but am very grateful for the pictures and descriptions. Am saving lots of the pics for reference in the future. Too many people in the trade don't even know the differences and lead us down the wrong path. My shed is littered with wrong parts.

thanks...... i appreciate your words and am glad that my articles are helping people...
    i am enjoying doing them...

the problem with the trade these days is not many specialise in early holdens and very few are avid enthusiasts..

How firm should the fit of the rollers be on their pins on HQ door glass?

haha I have shoved my rusty HQ doors aside and got different ones. Will tackle that as 1 bit at a time job when I re-assemble.
