UK Ebay: FORD FALCON XB GT 500 COUPE 6.5 V8 INTERCEPTOR 'MAD MAX' 1974 BLACK

    Found this on aussieV8.com.au

Not my cup of tea but interesting and not too many XB coupes would have covered only 43900 orinigal miles!

Someone will pay big bucks for that look at the rust buckets here for sale, that coupe with the ba parts is a waste of a car my ford mates would love a coupe but not that one!

Fugly POS but still looks better than a standard XB! We should think ourselves lucky that they used Fords for Mad Max and didn't show too much of the HQ Interceptor, otherwise heaps of good HQ coupes would have ended up as replica movie cars.

I spoke with the guy who built the originals for Mad Max (1) for hours at the Stanley Hotel.
He told me of the extremely limited budget and the cheats used. He was an air craft mechanic and still tinkers today.
The week I visited they were working on an Austin Healey Sprite fitted with a baby supercharger and at the time was rebuilding the gearbox.
For the life of me I cannot remember his name. I bet he can still be found at the Hotel bar most days drinking coffee!

Personally I'm not into replicas, but I understand why they exist.

If that is Bob (Forsenko?)'s car it was one they used to do some of the interior shots in one of the later MM movies and last known of in some collection or display over in Blighty. Remember reading about it a while ago somewhere.

A quick google finds it on IMDB....
