Someone will pay big bucks for that look at the rust buckets here for sale, that coupe with the ba parts is a waste of a car my ford mates would love a coupe but not that one!
Iconic muscle car...I'd love that in my garage![]()
Fugly POS but still looks better than a standard XB! We should think ourselves lucky that they used Fords for Mad Max and didn't show too much of the HQ Interceptor, otherwise heaps of good HQ coupes would have ended up as replica movie cars.
I'd still take maxs xb over 99% of the custom vans out there
Love the Mad Max Coupe and have to agree with Alien would love to have one parked in the shed, was one on carsales earlier this month northern NSW I think he wanted about $65,000 and it looked pretty good had rego plates MFP-??? , would be a cool cruiser
I spoke with the guy who built the originals for Mad Max (1) for hours at the Stanley Hotel.
He told me of the extremely limited budget and the cheats used. He was an air craft mechanic and still tinkers today.
The week I visited they were working on an Austin Healey Sprite fitted with a baby supercharger and at the time was rebuilding the gearbox.
For the life of me I cannot remember his name. I bet he can still be found at the Hotel bar most days drinking coffee!
Personally I'm not into replicas, but I understand why they exist.
Nunc est bibendum...
