Started doing a bit of stripping back today no nasty surprises so far, can any one tell me other than sandblasting what is the best way to get rid of the surface rust on the bare metal
Very impressive body so far especially around that rear 1/4 panel no rust is a good sign. I have been using a poly disc for more aggressive surface rust or ranex and green scourer for lighter applications.Well done on the purchase..
rainex rust buster is a good product (get it from Bunnings) or just dry sand it
There are plenty of flap wheels and scourer pads designed just for this purpose. Head down to your local panel beater supplier (B&L Supplies, Unanderra) I think is now owned by Rod Wishart.
They can advise you which is the right product. Typically used on a 9" Sander/Polisher.
What innuendo said...makes light work of it
I found on eBay a company called Smith & Arrow....their flap wheels and scourer discs are the best I've tried. Cost a little more, but they're a far superior product....recommended
Rod Wishart the ex footballer?
Yep, Ex Steeler, Dragon, Blue and Kangaroo.

Picked up my panels etc from Sandblaster today little bit of rust in bottom of guards, doors good rust wise , front clip needs a little bit of a tidy up and both tail gates rust free as well. Had the manifold hydro blasted came up a treat, and seats and new door trims ready to go.
