Aha, that was a great clue with the rego authorities using the chassis rail number only, thanks playwme, just checked through the other stuff thats been emailed to me about the van and the chassis number according to the rego papers is BHJ20384A. I guess thats the mock up confirmation. Does that offer any other clues to the vans heritage or simply confirm that somebody has swapped the ADR plate?

Cotillion white with 64v trim HJ van and 253 auto???? Hmmm. Rick. does it have the blue HX sandman stripes ? ....I have a hunch about this one . If its the one I thinking of I will post a link to it on here previously .... To view it's its mysandman.com online history type hux454 into the search feature or its chassis number ...

Could be that it's original but had a chassis swap back in the day , a crash or badly cracked so replaced with a good one as long as you are happy with it and can be regoed go for it

If the rails have the original number then remove the ADR plate.
Courtesy lights have no Sandman connotations in HJ, only in HX-Z.

Yes that 454 HUX link appears to be the van.
