"I am offering 'The Dream' I own Sandmans & Drifters, and as any car buff will know, the Drifter is the bomb! Not only is the Drifter a vehicle of higher quality in every regard, it is an amazing investment in the last of the true Australian muscle cars. The Drifter was only made for 1yr. This car is a 265 four speed manual, it does need complete restoration. The motor is highly ported, and has a large cam. It is running a 2 barrel carby, and is almost configured for racing. There is no rust in the usual Valiant places, eg:firewall, however there is rust in the car eg:windscreen/seams of roof/rear quarter. This car is for the enthusiast who wants to own, restore and cherish an incredible piece of Australian motoring history. This vehicle can only accumulate in value simply because of its rarity. My Godfather is Clem Smith, owner of Mallala Racetrack. My father Michael Finnis ran all of Clems' Chrysler dealerships in the seventies. We are car people!"

I've posted 2 threads with two different drifters.....i'd be leaning towards the rustier one for the simple reason it looks like factory paint. Nothing would been hidden. And you could take measurements of the original stripes before repairing the rust.

Having vic plates doesnt really matter. Looks like the rego expired ( according to the rego sticker ) in 2006 so it will have to go through the pits all over again anyways!!
