At least it's still around. How many of the old school show vans still exist?

I think you'd be surprised. Quite a few of the quality Vans are still about. Alley Cat, Innervisions, Midnight Express, Checkmate, Foxy Lady, Jade spring to mind. Although it is true a hell of a lot have gone to heaVAN.

If you go to a van nationals you will see it is still alive. Street legal is an awesome van. We are trying to something along those lines, with chrome modifications and minus the monza front on our malachite van and I am sure we will be spending upwards of $35 more like $55 by the time we finish so I don't think that is overpriced. Like someone else said the chrome would be a massive expense in itself. I hope someone buys the grand old girl and cares for it.

I hope the person who buys it understands the historic significance of this van, it is a three time van nationals winner, and an Australian Vanning icon with a legion of fans across the country.

It is my favourite of the original show vans and the current owner has done a lot of work in getting it recognised for club rego, suppling the original engineers reports that had made it 'street legal' in the first place.

It was offered to me before it was listed and made public, Unfortunatly my current situation does not allow me to become the custodian of this Vanning icon, had it been in a couple of years I would not have hesitated... :(

Its funny you mention Jade that not so recently changed ownership as well...

If you want to check out pictures of old show vans the Majestic Vanners forum has a register full of them:

    www.majesticvanners.com

You will need to register to view them, but its free!

I've got a shirt and stubby holder too, I also got a size 4 shirt for my son!

Steve Abbott will be attending our Van-In in October, and will be presenting a special 'Legends choice' trophy, custom designed by the Godfather of vanning in Australia, John Evans.
