Dang I just had a set I paid $12 for! Check local wreckers, only silly money on eBay.
Yeah I've seen them going for absolutely crazy money on fleabay. I'll keep checking wreckers, maybe I'll get lucky.
Look in VB-VH 6cyl Commodores, lots of these have steer. Make sure you get the bracket, the brace (that goes to the engine mount) plus all the mounting bolts that replace other bolts (longer) and the spacers between the bracket and the thermostat housing and I think there is one on the water pump too. Plus the spacers between the pup and the bracket. Th epulley just bolts to the harmonic balancer.
I have all the original measurements for the spacers if you are missing them.
You have to be quick, most VB-VHs are cleaned out for the brackets and if they have a blue motor the leccy dizzy as soon as they hit the ground around these parts.
Have you checked that your steering joints are all in good service and everything has been greased properly? I'd also ensure the wheel alignment is all good.
Otherwise, swaping to weatbix for breakfast may also be in order.
Ambientgoat, Steering and ball joints need to be rebuilt, but will be dealt with after rust. Wheel alignment will also be done before rego and the change to Weatbix was made many years ago.
