1979 Holden Sandman HZ - unrestored - Melbourne

This Flaminko Red 1979 HZ Pannel Van (Sandman), is truly one of a kind and a well known Australian Icon. What makes this one special? The vehicle is completely factory standard. I have the Vehicle Identification Certificate from the day the vehicle was purchased, Certificate Of Registration Of Motor Car and all books with Full Service History (always serviced at a Holden Dealer). The Sandman is in great condition both inside and out, you have to see to believe!! No bodywork or modifications have been done on the car, it is original factory paint. It runs like a brand new car and sounds how a REAL SANDMAN sounds! It only has 108,000kms FACTORY on the clock!! Everything is in complete working condition even the clock is still ticking away. No motor changes or modifications everything is 100% factory original. To find a car of this age in this condition is one in a million as it is completely original with no tampering. I also have the factory GM Holden Keys and I will supply a RWC. NO NEGOTIATING OR TIME WASTERS PLEASE!!! Contact for inspection this is a great buy for any investors or true car lovers!

    $50,000

Very nice, clean unrestored van. Has the best aerial fitted too. These don't turn up very often.

Nice but some things need doing by the looks of things 50k a lot of money
must admit great looking combo for a sandman
could do a nice resto for that sort of money even less

Resto is no where as significant as a genuine excellent original condition car. Cost of restoration is meaningless really.

If that was jasmine yellow I Would buy it for Rodney. The only difference from our original van and that one is the gear stick which is commodore (but correct for the very last of the 79 build) and it even those ugly n77 rims were on it although Rodney changed them to Lstars and the cassette is wrong. If it hadn't been tampered with why are the headlight surrounds on upside down. Perhaps a little bit of touching up on the paint on the front end I am being picky and a manual choke could have been added but what a great looking van. So nice to see one in its original state
HZ Jasmine Yellow Windowless Sandman, now being driven everywhere and is finished!
HZ Madeira Red Windowless sandman now Sold to Bigrob
HX Mandarin Red Sandman Ute finished, and club registered
1979 HZ malachite windowless van with 308 5spd, all chromed up and shiny finished and named "The Player"

Well spotted Jenny. The gear knob is WB as well as Commodore. No doubt all late HZ got it as well.

How does a car drive 109,000 kilometres and yet have no paint chips?

If it looks good in a pic you can be sure it's only half as good in the flesh. That old Acrylic buffs well
