    thanks @dick61
    ordered the new lens.

I'm planning on using the 202 Blue motor out of grandad's WB.
Does anyone know where i can source a basic (not crazy racing pistons n shit) rebuild kit for a 202 blue and if so, how much?

I've seen ACL Full racing rebuild kit (race gaskets, cast 60 thou over pistons, etc) for $700 but I'm wondering if there is a rebuild kit with just bog standard gear.

That kit from acl is the cheapest way to buy rebuild kits they are just flat tops those pistons in the kit nothing special about them

Finally bothered to upload some more pics to photobucket

finally did some work on the drivers side

    door sanded with 150 grit
    rust converter on spots
    sanded 320 grit
    spray putty to fill
    sanded 400 grit
    very light first primer coat

I'll probably have to do the primer again because as soon as i moved the car out, it rained.

I probably should've left if under cover

Good luck with the project, will be a Ute you will never forget and if is nice and straight, close to original and looked after will always get admiring glances from many. A nice set of Hotwires would look great and match the late 70's beautifully.

@Doug. I'm in Maryborough, QLD 3 hours from Brisbane.
@GNW1974 I think hotwires would look awesome. Only problem is that no one in my area has any

I was just wondering because I'm in Tassie, and have a 202 red motor with a 4 speed box which would be perfect for you, if you didn't want to rebuild the motor you were planning on using. I've got a 78 HZ Kingswood. I'm making mine how I want it, similar to you I guess. It was originally white with a buckskin interior, 202 four on the floor. I'm putting a full black GTS interior in mine, getting it sprayed either nocturne blue or windsor blue. Because I'm in Tasmania, I'm allowed to have a V8 on my L's and P's.

I must admit, full black GTS does look wicked for an interior. Lucky you for having access to V8's
