    Identify these please

This thread doesn't just have to deal with my two questions, keep it going if you have a question on a specific item?

    1. This threaded piece on the cross member is obviously a weld in job, so I ask, should it be completely removed or is this supposed to be here? If so what length should it be please.

I noticed this notch inside the passenger firewall, can anyone tell me its purpose (if any?) Thanks.

the first one is a weld in job, probably to hold the console upright.
its a worry that you don't have the original console bracket there where it is, or on the tunnel itself.

Agree re: tab is for trims and suspect other is owner added but they do have a hole here as standard (at least my 2 HQ's do)... not sure what for...

Interstingly my HQ also does not have a front mount bracket for the console (just 2 holes straight into floor) and a much smaller rear bracket than a lot I see, but the HQ console is also much simplier ie: no lid/arm rest.

That threaded rod aint meant to be there. You could leave it there and screw a knob on it and pretend its 4WD?
