After removing the passenger door and fender, it was time for some armature detective work. After some hard thinking I was able to deduce the likely cause of the water ingress. Elementary dear Watson! It may be something to do with the gaping rust holes in the A-pillar me thinks.

The base and mid-section rust outs have been cut out. I will focus on repairing the lower section first before dealing with the upper catastrophe.
None of those models have survived near my place lol
Haha usually better that way, easier to keep out of trouble.
Appease the Holden Gods and the world shall be yours mwahahahahaaaa
And seriously, nice progress with the van so far. Black vans look awesome.
Flat black and centrelines, love it!
"All correspondence must bear these numbers"
to the site eddo. Your thread is similar to ours in 2010. Our van pictured in my avatar looked almost worse than that, 300 hours of rust cutting, etc. But we enjoy driving it and take it everywhere so you will reap the reward when finished. Keep up the great work and keep the pics. Coming we all love pics. Cheers jennie

Further damage exposed, the bottom of the A-pillar is rusted out, as is the outer sill.

First cut of the passenger floor, gradually cutting further out to the marked lines whilst avoiding cutting of the floor sub-structure beneath.

Passenger floor removal complete.

All of the lower passenger A-pillar rust removed, quite an extensive amount of work to cut this much metal out. Technically speaking I can say she’s rust free…………. now to put it back together. New floor pan and outer sill have been sourced from rare spares and a new inner sill from E-bay. A reproduction A-pillar is not available so it is off to the wrecking yard for more metal surgery.

freakin yikes! dude that is some serious metal mashin going on there. yeewww
hangin to see what happens with that inner sill and a-pillar
i reckon unpick and replace the ends of the cowl/plenum cover. that little prick is the reason you have knackered a-pillars and flooding dilemmas
