Is an xu3 hz with 2 seating cap and rating of 2200kg a sandman please?

XU3 = Sandman made in Brisbane.
So at the very least the tag is off/from a Sandman.

Yeah I was refferring to the van on ebay but it didnt last long, less than one day! It didnt look like it had too much rust in it compared to some. Did you know this van Mr Jones or had you inquired yourself. Does it make it any less a sandman with a police stamp on it or just prove it has been stolen at some stage?

all XU3 that i have seen are 2200 kgs only.....

where as XX7 can be 1800 kgs, 1860 kgs, 1950 kgs, 2000 kgs 2155 kgs, and 2200 kgs/

my guess that the ratio of XX7:XU3 would be 25:1

Probably cracked the chassis at some stage and replaced it.

This van was a new one to me, the replacement chassis no. wouldn't be a problem unless you want to do a concourse restoration but given the running gear is gone this isn't the car for that option. If I bought it an EFI motor and auto would be the go along with a repaint then drive the wheels off it.

Auction was ended because of an error in the listing so expect it back on ebay with Sandman in the title and another 5k added to the buy it now

I looked at before this thread was up and it wasn't worth the $1800.00 on the Buy It Now.
It didn't sell either in the time it was up, yet had plenty of lookers.

2155kg also for HJ-HX 6cyl XU3. 2200kg is V8 XU3.

Sandmans left today my guess based upon what i've got recorded is ratio of not derated GVW Sandmans to those with lower GVW would be about 35-40:60-65. Counting only those after 10/75 it'd be about 1:100. Remember that the non-derated Sandman package was around from the start of Sandman production through to late 1979 but the de-rated variety only existed from late in 1975 through to late 1979, so 4 years versus nearly 6.
