Should I Forgive The Mrs?

Ok, this is just for a laugh, but back in the early 2000's I had an Lx Hatchback Torana.

It was only a base model, but the body was good and it had a 308 with the usual stuff done and a supra 5 speed in it. Was a fun car to drive

Anyway, our first kid came along and we needed a more family friendly car. So it began...

"You should sell the Torana, we don't need it."
"When are you going to sell the Torana? It costs too much to run."

And so on...I held out for a while, but in the end it went and we were stuck with a Vp Commodore :(

It's been like a running joke between us ever since, that she made me sell the hatch. And the fact I'll never get another one with the stupid prices decent ones go for.


But, as she pointed out to me the other day, it was her idea to go look at the Hx van I have when I came across it for sale. And it was also her suggestion that I sell the van I had and buy the Hx, not knowing it was a Sandman at the time.

So the question is, has she redeemed herself?

Seeing as its a running joke, seems you may have forgiven her already!!! The base model torrie was replaced with a genuine Sandman, so essentially, you've upgraded. I'd let it slide .....just this one time. If she asks you to sell the Sandman.....probably get a good lawyer

Definitely. You've gotten rid of a 6cyl SL Torana and got a V8 Sandman. SL hatchback isn't totally a base model, a Sunbird is - you couldn't get a 4cyl Torana hatchback until Sunbird was released, prior to that yes you had the base model!

True I own a v8 Sandman now. The Torrie was such a fun car though lol

Yeah I think that's about where we're at haha.

Still got the WB, waiting till the Hx gets blasted to see how bad it is. The Wb may become a panel doner if needed...

Yeah probably. LX hatchback is a far cooler car than a panelvan though....
