They are a bit of overkill though. The HJ GTS was such a good looking car, and the LE was a let down in a few ways. People think they are rare, but in actual fact there were about half as many HJ LS's made as LE's and almost the same amount of HJ GTS coupes.

HJ GTS is what I always wanted but like you say too dam rare to find. That's why I grabbed this over a Q shell, I already have all the HJ GTS parts I just needed a shell with doors to go with it. being the HX, the panels and dash fit without modifying the firewall.

I reckon thats goona be worth it! You might be interested to look at a product called Rust Bullet Automotive (you can google it) I will always recommend that stuff its great.

Just a note, when you go chasing the internal pillar moulds for a Hj/hx coupe and can't find any, grab the Hj standard ones, you can cut them down and reweld together because they are still made in metal. I fitted a statesman back seat top so I could have a middle arm rest but had to add 50mm each side. Cheers

I made a transport frame for the body shell, its heading to a retired panel beaters house who is going to repair the roof skin for me. then back to mine for rest.

Haven't touched it for a while due to other projects but finally made a little bit of headway.

Removed the rear header support to start the roof repairs, Got a pro in on the roof skin, bit over my head.
