Mine was a bit underpowered. Went OK but a short stroke V8 auto isn't that great, needed another 50 or more cubes. My old FJ40 with 327 in it was awesome on the sand. Overlander was better than most, went better on the sand than any diesel i've ever tried but still needed a bit more go.
All you needed Byron was another genuine GM part..... a 6/71.....

there was mob called molecraft in wa making these in 70s and 80she made heaps and many still around he moved on to build and racing monster trucks and build the feature monster truck in the newest mad max movie coming out soon
I think the earlier Molecraft stuff were built from Haywood kits.
Mine really needed a BBC. There is a dude local to me that has a wagon, he has converted it to 427 and 4L80E.
