Hq with number stamped on cowl?

    Hi guys
I recently purchased a hq Belmont sedan as a parts car for my Monaro but it ended up being a little to good to cut up ( no one wants to cut up a hq ) so I'm just gunna switcheroo a few parts give it a quick paint and move it on.
What a weapon it has a 173 , 3 on the tree , bench seat , 4 wheel drum brakes , under dash knee freeze air con lol bugger all rust.
Anyway it has a number stamped on the cowl panel just wondering if anyone has come across it before and what it means.
Tried posting some pics but looks like things have changed around here since I last done it , the number is 11197 A if that helps
    Cheers ben

Elizabeth body number. Pagewood vehicles have them on the firewall until approx VB Commodore production. Elizabeth stopped using it prior to the end of HQ. They are numbers used to track the vehicle through the assembly plants.

You won't because people don't know what they are or how they work, and it is good thing as it helps to spot rebodied cars quickly and easily.

Can I ask what the Body number is off the Body plate and the month of production, I have a rough idea that it is Dec 71. The first Elizabeth 80169 I have is 9/72 with Body No. 1672A, I'm trying to piece together Elizabeth's early production numbers and I'm interested to know what happened before the commercial production fully ramped up.

sounds like the 202 3-speed drummy brakes death trap I picked up recently. ANY HQ is too good to cut up ;)

All Mosman Park HQ should have it as they are Elizabeth bodies.
