Looks OK for a streeter. Pity about the wrong stripes being fitted along with the 5 speed when it was a factory 253/Trimatic.

Someone will buy for less money, but it's a bitsa and not for me.

The chassis number on the ADR plate is 12K too high L307316 puts it in April 75 not August. I wonder what no. the chassis has on it?

But I have to say white is growing on me especially with bright blue stripes.

Dodgy, dodgy, dodgy. Someone will get their fingers burnt. As Leroy says BODY and VIN plates belong together but on a 4/75 van with chassis number close to BHJ322xxA. My guess, being a HJ the 4/75 car was a column auto, and possibly the 8/75 car was a 253 3spd or column auto but is was a 2 seater. See what happens when you give shonks too much info? Current owner may well be the one who gets burnt as he is advertising it as a Sandman even if he didn't do the plate swapping (which he probably is innocent of). And why would you ruin a perfectly good HJ with HX stripes?
It is possible both sets of plates originated on Sandmans too!

If you are going to spend that much on a complete, going, ready to use Sandman that is the sort of car you want. A HJ, 308, original engine, Absinth Yellow, not stuffed with, no hippy stripes, not lowered etc. Good honest GTS style van the way they all should have been! If you ever wanted a restored Sandman that will hold its value this is what you want to buy (assuming of course it is done right and isn't full of hidden, bogged up rust, and has its original chassis). I'd like to see the build month and chassis number off this one too, something odd was going on at Pagewood at this time. Elizabeth body numbers and Pagewood PSN's are all over the place!

That is probably the best Sandman offering I have seen in quite some time. Has great appeal and appears to have a provable history.
Correct top of the line driveline, windowless and a HJ. If it all is what it cracks up to be, this is something worth chasing.

Negatives for me are the interior colour and whoever is responsible for the tailpipes needs shooting. Also around 10K overpriced.
