    Sandman's had the same diff ratios as all Holden's available.
    Typically you would have 2.78, 3.08, 3.36. 3.55 and 3.90

    The tags normally give up the ratio but will not tell you if they were limited slip.

    GV3 = 2.78:1 Salisbury (HQ had different Codes between Salisbury and Banjo)
    GU4 = 3.08:1
    GV4 = 3.36:1
    GV7 = 3.55:1

    I'm sure others will add to this and correct anything I may have wrong.

    Just about spot on for HJ-HZ, except 2.78:1 is GU7 and 2.60:1 is G70. HQ only had the dif ratio stamped if an optional ratio was fitted, if the ratio was standard for the model, eg 6cyl Belmont panel van, model code 0170, standard diff was 3.55 so it'd be blank if 3.55 fitted.

    HQ is as follows:

    Banjo:
    G90 3.90
    G91 3.55
    G93 3.08
    G95 3.36

    Salisbury:
    GV1 3.08
    GV2 3.36
    GV3 2.78
    GV4 3.55

    They did, but not only on auto. L31 M21 normally got a 2.78:1 diff as well. Remember most of these wire 13" tyres so roughly equivalent to 3.08-3.36 or so with 14" tyres.

    I had to look them up too. I know HJ-HZ off the top of my head but forget the HQ codes.
