    Back in the 80's I had multiple HK-T-G Vans with side glass but it always aftermarket or aftermarket dealer supplied. The Queensland side glass supplier for Van and Canopies was Athol Hedges Pty Ltd at Northgate, Brisbane. Very similar to what Canopy Industries was to New South Wales. As mentioned previously no part numbers exist for any Holden side glass pre HJ part catalogs.

    You will also notice that Armourglas left the last "s" of glass so the date code (year) would read:

    A = 1
    R = 2
    M = 3
    O = 4
    U = 5
    R = 6
    G = 7
    L = 8
    A = 9
    S = 0

    Check the "DOT" on your own cars and see if it matches your year of build.
    Supposedly prior to this system "No Dot" equaled "0" I.E: 1960, 1970, 1980 etc

    HR bpnnet spear and over riders are possible Nasco Options..

    Judging from the market, Windowed vans are 25% less value than windowless as to the original question

    Yeah that is true enough, but the likelihood of these being ordered at new for a commercial model is next to zero.
    Of course if a purchase receipt can be produced to prove it, I'd eat my words. Though I don't expect to be snacking on them any time soon!

    It's a cool old bus nevertheless.

    Hmm, my 1960 FB has a dot on the 10th letter of Armourplate (above the "t") so I'm not convinced on that piece of information.
    The good news is just about all pieces of glass are marked the same in that car, the two that don't match (you guessed it) no dot!

    HQ on the other hand I'm still to be convinced. Nothing pre HQ had factory side glass.
    Back home now and have checked my manuals..... Side windows listed as per previous post in section 11.011 (glass) and 11.015 (seals) of HQ parts catalogue No. M37441 issued Oct. 1973.

    Side windows were definitely a factory fitted option on HQ Sandman.

    Thanks Sean that is good to know. All my manuals are still locked away. One minute we were moving the next we're not and then we think we are going to soon; so everything is packed ready. I assume the part numbers are the same as I posted?

    You could certainly order them in HQ, whether or not they were fitted at the body plant (or some body plants) is the uncertain factor. Buickzz's original HQ Sandman shows A09 on the broadcast sheet as a build option, plus shows YES in box 34 (fixed side windows). However the van arrived at the dealer with the windows in the car, and they were fitted by the dealer (contracted out to a 3rd party) along with the stripes. So we know that at that time Acacia Ridge most likely were not fitting the windows. My guess is Elizabeth and Pagewood did, but more proof is needed. Note that is it fairly rare to get items listed on the broadcast sheet that are not fitted in the body or assembly plants or in some cases the finishing/touchup area(s), we know HQ and HJ Sandman stripes were one. Normally the dealer would just fit stuff you asked for like mudflaps, towbar etc.

    As Sean says the glass and rubbers are in the 10/73 and 3/77 HQ cattledogs but they aren't in the HQ commercial release catalogue from 11/71.

    Interestingly I looked at the HJ, HZ and HZ Production Options books.

    HJ lists A09 (side windows) for commercial only and not Kingswood.
    HX lists A09 for commercial and Kingswood.
    HZ doesn't list A09.

    You might want to check your books as well Byron as the publish dates may differ which might have changes.

    There was no HJ Kingswood van.
    My HZ book shows A09 for Holden and Kingswood vans. Sheet 7 of POA book. I think my rev is 9/5/79.

    Interesting because I was going to ask about the HG as there is one for sale that states " very rare 1970 hg windowless panel van ", which means if I am comprehending it correctly, that they basically all came out with side windows, not that hg vans were rare lol.

    So what your saying Innuendo is that no windows is the norm as opposed to the rule from factory?
