    Hj help

Been looking at a van that has

    Build date 8/75
    2200kg
    2 seat

    But the vin tag reads
    8M70RFH362133j

    HJ8WM70 xx7
    362193B
    1905 19v
    568 17342

Shouldn't the above vin tag have the letter E instead of F if 8/75 build.

The vin and body tag are painted the safety compliance is not.

Could the compliance be off another vehicle??

You probably know of this vehicle

    Thanks for your help

A sandie maybe.... why do the two tags not correspond.
My guess is it has had a respray at some stage, the two right hand tags have been sprayed and the compliance has been replaced off another vehicle??

Hi Porkhunt, I say you are onto one there .
I have a HJ Sandman 09/75 and it has the "F" on the vin code as well I have a HX Sandman XX7 Brissy built in which the tag's are painted as you have described.
Side note-Jamaica Lime must have been a very common color back in HJ era!!
Check out thread's in the HJ section by GTS "HJ sandman van resto" and "The stripes are on....."

Acacia Ridge HJ VIN and BODY tags were put on in the body plant and hence painted. ADR plate was put on in the assembly plant and are naked. I'll check it out tomorrow, but it could simply be it was expected to be assembled in early Sept but it went through the assembly plant in late August. Remember it can be up to two weeks between a body being hard trimmed and painted before it goes into the assembly plant. My red Acacia Ridge GTS327 waited 3 months.
Is the PSN 392193 or 362133? The last 3 digits of the PSN will be on the back of the ADR tag in texta if they originally belonged together which they probably do.

The guy that owns it seems genuine, and did say that painted plates did come out on the Brisbane vehicles.
The number is H362133. I don't have any photos of vehicle.
I was more concerned with the Letter F for build yr instead of E for 75.
I just paranoid about spending time and money on something that may be not turn out to be a sandman.
I guess there is no way to check back of tag with out removing it?
    Thanks for your input guys.

HK I don't have photos or details of actual chassis no. Only the tags, Im told all numbers match except for engine. Which I hope to be correct when I get to look over vehicle.
