In that sense Rod the HQ was the prototype for all of them! HJ-HZ shouldn't have even existed. HQ was meant to go straight into WA, but GMH were way behind in development, so HJ was born as an interim measure. WA got canned, so HX then HZ came into being.

nice so HJ-HZ was just the scraps or poor cousin of the almighty HQ

HJ-WB are improvements in many ways, especially in interior comfort and features. HZ was a massive steering and ride improvement. But they did mess with the styling of the HQ that many see as a negative. Remember although many say the HQ was 100% local, evidence suggests it was a canned US design bought over here and finished for Australia.

Yeah thats correct rod it took em 3 goes to get it right but finally the hz rained supreme style comfort and class
