    Sandman - Byron questions

Byron over at Fastlane has posted a couple questions that I know a couple can be sorted here. I believe these are materials for his up coming book, so documented and photographic evidence would be highly appreciated.

Guys - especially Absinth, Jason, Hainzy, Blocker and other Sandman fanatics! HZ GTS owners might know too.

Just have a coupe of Sandman specific items I need to find out.

    1. HZ Sandman steering wheels. Trim list section of HZ parts catalogue states that all Sandman and GTS got black steering wheels.
There are 3 x colours listed for ALL however in the text: black, dark buckskin and dark carmine.
Sandman didn't get 77C trim so the Carmine wheel is out.
So has anyone seen an original 63C trimmed HZ Sandman or GTS and noted whether it defintely had a black wheel or Dark Buckskin steering wheel and horn pad? These will be 10/78 onwards examples. I just want to make sure the parts catalogue is right!

    2. Anyone have documentation showing what 67C is called in HZ? Is it just Brown like 67V was called on HZ HOLDEN with a bench seat? (67V is Tan on Kingswood and Sandman but Brown with bench on HOLDEN).

    3. HJ-HZ Sandman van or HX-HZ Kingswood van. Anyone got access to one of these bodies without it's rear headlining attached? If you have, can you have a look at the centre roof support that runs from side to side under the roof sheetmetal. Does it have a series of holes across the back edge? If so, what is it for? Is it functional to the rear headlining somehow? The couple I have access to have these holes, but non-Sandman or non HX/HZ Kingswood dont.

    4. As above, but for an Elizabeth van body (so Pagewood, Dandenong or Elizabeth assembled van). Can anyone possibly get a close-up photo of where the headlining side attachment strips join the inner panels at the front? I have photos of Acacia Ridge examples, but all the local Elizabeth bodies I know of have headlinings installed.

If this is what Byron is talking about then yes my HJ has holes in the back edge of the centre roof support. It is for the headlining. As well as the rods that hold it in, the headlining also gets screwed into these holes:D

If I have done this right there will be a photo here!

YES ITS MY SANDMAN, NO YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT

My HJ body has them as well. There is some sort of foam material between the roof and roof support. There are black phillips head screws in the holes.
