Hey blocker i have been reading some stuff on dashes you and other people spoke about last year and was interested to read that you say hj fasias should be grey but mine is the same as your photos which is black and mine has the same sticker and cast plastic id as yours so over time has your addvise changed and have i got the right fasia or the wrong fasia.i do need do know because i am buying a console off a gentle man who is telling me the lid is grey because that is what my dash has to be i would like to know if i should keep disagreeing with him and telling him that mine is black from factory because i believe it is
    or am i wrong

I've not noticed that before! Funny you crawl around the thing and what is insignificant to one person is a big deal to someone else. Hopefully we'll get an answer.

Thank you its funny you say about the trim code because when i first bought this ute i was told to ring a guy in wa as he is like you people an expert and he told me that there will be people that will tell you its not a sandman because of the trim code. I have about ten collectable cars and none of them have ever been as much hard work as this one in identifying they are an interesting vehicle

Lot's to update but not many pictures... sorry.

Moved all the parts and spares back home where it is more convenient to clean, repair and sort things. The engine is home and will go through a clean and strip process then off to an undecided workshop for massaging and reassembly!

I better get some photos otherwise the rabble get upset.

As promised a couple random pictures for no other reason other than to prove I went to the shed

This is my HJ van firewall. During dismantelization (I made this word up) I found a faded chalk mark of 11/74 on the inside of the firewall.. neat hey?!

19v door trim for the same van above. Note this is a Commercial trim not Kingswood trim which has the horizontal lines. This is the correct style door trim for the model and year for this Sandman.
