Once again I feel you areover thinking the job, mounting the two tanks next to each other would give you two inlet pipes facing to the right side of the car. by welding another inlet pipe in the rhs tank so that it feeds the lhs tank would allow both to fill from the one inlet. The only problem with this is that the rhs tank would need to be nearly full before the left tank would start to fill. There is aother way of running a single filler to both tanks, use a Tee or a Y in the filler neck so that the one point on the body fills both tanks. A third way to set this up would be to have the lhs tank inlet come out in the removable panel inside the bed. This is only good for those of us lucky enough to drive Utes!!
I am actually considering running the filler neck inside the bed on my Sandman as someone in the past plated up the original filler neck on the body.

AlienDNA told us all in the very first post that the chassis is that of '80's Newcastle show van "Street Legal".
The Van was national title winner twice and was owned and built by Dave Marsh from "Our Town Van Club". Body work by Gary Pockets.
Now owned by Trucker Dave of Majestic Vanners in Melbourne.
He did too. I didn't see the text below teh picture as I was looking on my Iphone. It made sense it was an old show van, given the jag rear end and all the old school detailing. Plus I remember seeing a flew flash undercarriages like that on some of the Hunter based vans at the annual Rickshaws show in the 80's.
