With a built date of 3/10/1974 is is highly unlikely to have ever made it into a HQ. Good HJ 308 for sure.

It is 3rd September '74 so whilst it was cast during very late HQ production it will be from an October complianced (or very late Sept at the outside) HJ. QT576xxx engines appear to be in HJ's at all assembly plants.
Yes, early volume HJ production would be my guess. Like below chassis number AHJ02500 from any of the assembly plants.
I am looking for a 253, engine number QR903643. It's out of a 1977 HZ Sandman that was originally purchased in Wollongong NSW although the engine was changed out in Western Sydney at Girraween.
Bloke on Facebook selling this:
Cast date is 8K4.EJ Martin HQ HJ HX HZ WB Holden Forum
308 red trimatic pattern motor and trimatic trans out of hj, HiTec extractors bolted on, Edelbrock manifold, holly carby, very good runner, no noises or rattles, never been bored out, (Virgin Block)
Engine number starts QT584xxx and cast date is pictured, I'm asking $2,000 Ono pick up korumburra Vic
Trimatic isn't original to the 308, block must be from a manual HJ, so more than likely from a GTS sedan or coupe or a Sandman ute or van. All other standard 308 applications in HJ at the time were TH auto (LS, Premier, Deville and Caprice). It could of course be an ordered option from a Belmont or Kingswood Sedan/Wagon/Ute or a HJ Ute/Van but far more likely to be GTS or Sandman.
Not sure if this is helpful to anyone. I have a 253 engine QR 872007 cast date 5D7 Has trimatic auto also been sitting a while. Suit rebuild Just put in in as I know its hard chasing numbers.
I've had a look through the shed.
