    Flex plate

I'm almost ready to transplant a 5.0 litre / TH400 combination into our WB ute.

Can anyone tell me if a TH700 flex plate is the same as a TH400 one.

Chev and Holden are different . Also your T400 may be a 168 tooth 11 inch flex plate in which case u will need to get a starter motor to suit it also . My guess is that your 153 tooth 10 inch flex plate is what u have already and this can be used for your T700

    VN-VSIII V8 4L60 and 4L60E are the same as HJ-HZ TH400 in my experience.

Holden beefed up quite a bit of stuff in the VT including the block, so it makes sense that the flex plate could be heavier as well.
Also in my experience, VN through VT flex plates will interchange, with no problems.

You may have had a trimatic plate. I think the original TH400 plate is the same as the 4L60/4L60E one from VN-VSIII.

Hi all my van has a 350 chev T700 at the moment and the 350 needs recond but i have a turbo pattern 308 with a T350 so if i just take the T350 off will the 308 bolt straight up to the T700 with the same flex plate? Thanks .(the 350 will go back in when i rebuild the van but just after a quick fix to get it to the van nationals)

It'll bolt up, can't remember if tailshafts were different length or not for Chev and Holden. They were in HK-HG but not HQ from memory.

Close. I think you just have to slot the holes a bit for the rear engine mount.
